Copy this art project
I was lucky enough to make it to the SF Musuem of Modern Art yesterday and see the SFMOMA Scavengers exhibit. I wish I would have blogged about this yesterday, because it only ran from Oct.1-Oct.3. Such a cool idea: SFMOMA teamed up with British artist Joshua Sofaer to create the ultimate art scavenger hunt. With only nine hours and the seven-by-seven-mile area of San Francisco at their disposal, 50 teams were invited to register, pack their maps, and set out from SFMOMA in search of fame and glory. The winning team got 4,000 dollars. When it was all over, Sofaer used the objects collected in the hunt as the basis for a three-day exhibition at SFMOMA. It was so well done. A clear box with red shoes, rows of sunny-side up eggs, matterress stacked up to the ceiling. Sounds like everyday day stuff, but he made it look neat. Anyone in New York reading this? Plans are currently underway to mount Scavengers at PS1 MoMA in New York.
He did this project last year at the Tate Modern Museum in London. Here's what their clues were. And some pictures.

Only 9 hours for all that! I'd be a frantic mess. That's a cool idea though.
This one really excited me Sharon, because Mike and me went to the tate when we were in London this summer, it was really great.
Mike and Bille--
so are you saying that my blog about the movie Stick It didn't excite you?
