Copy me if you want to learn about lighthouses

I read Gifts from the Sea, by Natalie Kinsey-Warnock last night. It wasn't anything grand, but it did teach me to have an appreciation for lighthouses. Some people have a thing for lighthouses, and I never knew why until I read this book. The story takes place in the 1850's on a remote Maine lighthouse where twelve-year-old Quila shares some of her experiences. The book is inspired by a true event that happened off of Hendricks Head Lighthouse in mid-1800. It's only 112 pages. I promise you won't take long to read it, not because it's sooo good, but because it's so short.
